Foundation repair deals with a wall that has moved. That is a different problem from a wall that leaks. A sideways crack, a bow you can see, or a stair-step crack through the mortar all mean one thing. The soil outside is winning. No drainage system fixes that, and waterproofing a wall in that state only hides it.
Two things push our walls in. Clay soil swells as it takes on water and presses sideways. Then frost heaving (opens in a new tab) adds to it every time wet ground freezes against the foundation. Akron crosses freezing dozens of times a winter, so that load goes on and off all season.
Footings settle when the ground under them gives way, usually after years of water running along the footing line. That shows up as doors that stop latching and stair-step cracks that widen toward one corner. We measure the movement before quoting, and working out which problem you have is the first thing we do. A single leaking crack on a sound wall is just basement crack repair.
